Painting Description & Insights

Can you feel the hope penetrating the turmoil in this painting?

“Resilience Grows” reflects life. We all have to face hardships, emotional headwinds and mental exhaustion. It is through these times that we discover how strong and flexible we truly can be. The weathered faces of the poppies are enhanced against the stormy background as they bend and sway. They adjust and flex, they don’t break.

As we move through life, there are times when we feel battered and bruised. This is where resilience grows, in the wild winds and turbulent times.

Capturing this on canvas reminds me that, while life isn’t always pretty or fair, there is always light on the horizon. As we pass through the dark, there is beauty and strength in and around us.

Blending textures and negative space, I want to draw you into the details, giving you breathing room and forming a connection.

There is a thin border around this painting serving as a reminder that there are always constraints to the adversities we face.
