Title: “Weathering the Storm”
Painting Description & Insights
The inspiration for “Weathering the Storm” came during COVID-19 lockdown.
After being caught in the negative news cycle, I needed to breakaway from it. When I constantly hear bad news, it’s easy to believe everything is negative, but it’s not. Yes, horrible things are happening to people around the world, however, so are incredible things.
Being forced to keep a physical distance has resulted in people searching, reaching and finding ways to connect with loved ones, neighbours and strangers. The generosity and kindness of the human spirit has had a reboot, and I hope it endures once the virus has loosened its grip.
Yes there is darkness, but there is a beautiful light, and that is the cycle I want to be caught in.
To see the texture and details of this abstract floral landscape please look at the below photos. “Weathering the Storm” explores the beauty and balance of negative space on positive space; how one enhances the other.
Are you bathing in the soft light or emerging from the darkness?
Note: Although the photos make this painting look close to black, the colour is actually Paynes Grey, which is almost bluey purple in colour.
Mixed media on professional grade canvas.
Framing can be completed on request prior to delivery.
